Green watch box (not literally)
Share
Lets be green in some way? Mechanical watch itself is pretty nice product in this sense, because it consist no difficult materials, batteries or other electrical parts. Mechanical watches are also the most slow fashion. They will last a long time if maintained appropriately. Even without maintenance they will last longer than most contemporary products with electronics and such.
But where to be green with such a product? Well, the watchbox would be nice thing to try to do this. The watch box is just the box where the watch is kept safe during its travels to its forever home, and/or from others harms, until it is unboxed and taken in use.
So there you have it. RAE-3 watch box was designed to be "green". It is out of recycled cardboard and size wise very practical and minimal. It does its job and keeps the watch safe until unboxed. At this point I also can say that it has been surviving well during shipments. Even though cardboard sounds a bit not hard material, the box has been designed to be sturdy and to actually keep the watch safe during international shipments. Something to mentions is also that the box can be even burned (in safe environment) without releasing any toxins. And if the unfathomable tragedy happens that the box ends up in the nature (not recommended to happen), it will decompose there.
So I would say that we have chipped in the being "green" thing and it was not that hard to do.
Cheers,
J
